Steve Dillard has been in law enforcement for thirty-eight years and currently is the Senior Law Enforcement Liaison for the Tennessee Highway Safety Office. He began his career with the City of Red Bank in 1982 where he worked in many different areas of Communications, Uniform Patrol, Investigations, and Training.
In 2009, Steve was hired as the East Tennessee Law Enforcement Liaison for the Governor’s Highway Safety Office where he served 24 counties, 66 police departments, two college/universities, and two THP posts. He became the Tennessee State Coordinator for the DUI Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing program in 2011. He was promoted to Senior Law Enforcement Liaison in 2019 and now supervises the four regional Law Enforcement Liaisons.
Steve is certified by the Tennessee POST Commission as an Instructor and currently teaches in the area of DUI/Standard Field Sobriety Testing. He also teaches Basic In-Service classes for agencies and assists the Tennessee District Attorneys General Conference with training new prosecutors.
Steve is married and has three daughters and one grandchild. He is an associate member of the Tennessee Association of Chiefs of Police and International Association Chiefs of Police. He is an active member of the Red Bank Baptist Church, where he sings in the choir and serves as the Chairman of the Security Team.
