Tennessee Smart Mobility Expo
On April 2-3 of 2025, the Center for Transportation Research joined others from the University of Tennessee System at the third annual Smart Mobility Conference in Nashville, TN.
Representatives from academia, industry, and government convened to discuss research and technology advances around transportation in Tennessee.
Expert panels presented new technology designed to better understand traffic patterns and find safer and more efficient ways to move people and goods from place to place.
Businesses such as Nissan, Volkswagen, and Rivian showcased new electric vehicle models, and Whisper Aero highlighted electric glider and airplane technology.
Academic institutions such as the University of Tennessee Knoxville and the University of Tennessee Chattanooga set up booths alongside Vanderbilt and Tennessee Tech University to talk with conference attendees about campus research, such as increased use of lidar technology.
