10/17/24: #GetConvinced at UTK Engineers Day
Register to participate in Engineers Day 2024.
Each October, the college hosts Engineers Day, a tradition going back more than 100 years. Undergraduate engineering classes are dismissed for one day to allow university students and faculty to spend time interacting with hundreds of potential UT engineering students from high schools and community colleges across the region.
#GetConvinced, CTR’s teen driver safety program, will have a booth at the event. The seatbelt convincer will be available for those with signed waivers to ride, and engineering students who have done work with the program will attend and be available to answer questions about the STEM behind the seatbelt convincer.
Participants travel to UT to explore and learn about the various aspects of engineering through discussions, project demonstrations, competitions, and exhibits prepared by UT engineering student organizations and resource offices.
Participants also experience an overview of the different engineering disciplines and see examples of how an engineer’s work impacts daily life. It is our hope that these students will be inspired by the ever-growing field of engineering.
Registration information as well as the list of competitions, rules, and the day’s schedule will be available closer to the day. Please check back for more information. Join the Engineers Day mailing list to ensure you don’t miss any important information.
