CTR at the 2025 Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting

CTR at the 2025 Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting

March 13, 2025

The University of Tennessee Center for Transportation Research (CTR) was well represented in Washington D.C. this January at the 2025 Transportation Research Board (TRB) Annual Meeting. CTR faculty, staff, and student researchers shared their ongoing projects with likeminded individuals from all across the United States. This yearly event brings together thousands of transportation professionals from around the globe to discuss innovative solutions and advancements in the field.

One of the highlights of the 53 presentations by University of Tennessee researchers was a lectern session by Dr. Kevin Heaslip, Director of CTR, who discussed Addressing Transportation Workforce Connections to Elevated Cybersecurity Risk. His session sparked discussions on the future of cybersecurity as transporation continues to evolve. Additionally, CTR’s graduate research assistants had the opportunity to showcase their research projects during the conference. These sessions provided a platform for our budding researchers to receive feedback from seasoned professionals, fostering an environment of mentorship and knowledge exchange.

The TRB Annual Meeting also facilitated networking opportunities, allowing CTR representatives to connect with peers, industry leaders, and potential collaborators. These interactions are instrumental in forging partnerships that drive impactful research and real-world applications.

As CTR continues its mission to address transportation challenges through research and innovation, engagements like the TRB Annual Meeting play a crucial role in shaping the future of mobility and infrastructure.
