Elena Goss

Elena Goss is a sophomore majoring in Urban Transportation Planning through the College Scholars Program at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Her studies center on the application of geographic information science, engineering, and urban ecology to mitigate car dependency and the other supremely unjust issues it propagates, including but not limited to anthropogenic climate change, high death rates, social inequality, pollution, urban sprawl, poor job accessibility, extraneous government spending, and travel congestion. She is currently working under Dr. Marcella Kaplan on an electric vehicle survey project that analyzes the demographics and gender distribution of EV ownership in Knoxville. Elena plans to earn a Master’s in City and Regional Planning and become an AICP-certified planner. She hopes to work as a planner and project manager for a private consulting firm that partners with U.S. cities and states to improve urban transportation infrastructure.

Innovative solutions for the future of mobility.
