May 4th, 2026 Zoom Seminar – “Teslism: The New Industrial Paradigm of the Automobile Industry?”
Tesla has already disrupted the global market through its innovative electric vehicles. However, a bigger question remains: Is Tesla poised to change not just what we drive, but how automobiles are made?
The Center for Social Theory, in collaboration with the Center for Transportation Research (CTR), invites you to a deep dive into “Teslism” and the potential for a new industrial paradigm.
Exploring “Teslism”
For over a century, the automotive industry has been defined by specific manufacturing standards and labor relations. Today, Tesla’s unique approach to production, innovation, and global competition is challenging those long-standing traditions.
This session will explore how these shifts may reshape:
Manufacturing Processes: New methods for building at scale.
The Future of Work: Changes to auto jobs and industrial relations.
Global Competition: How traditional manufacturers are reacting to the Tesla model.
Meet the Expert: Ulrich Jürgens
We are honored to host Ulrich Jürgens, a Senior Researcher and Berlin Social Science Center Professor at the Free University of Berlin. With over 30 years of experience investigating industrial transformations, Professor Jürgens brings an unparalleled international perspective to the discussion of how the “Tesla model” impacts the global economy.
