New Updates on the TN Vans Program
Tennessee Vans is a financially sustainable social business enterprise under the UT Center for Transportation Research that provides vehicles (15 Passenger, Minivan, Crossover, & Sedan) to nonprofit organizations. As a social business enterprise, Tennessee Vans addresses problems of human mobility, specifically the needs of the transportation disadvantaged. We have been in existence since 1990 as a vehicle provision and financial service program. We plan to continue partnering with community agencies for many years to come.

Organization Spotlight
Buffalo River Services (brstn.org) has been a participant in our program since 1993. They work with people with disabilities and their families across many counties including Giles, Hickman, Lawrence, Lewis, Maury, Perry and Wayne. They have developed person-centered services for people in these counties. Buffalo River Services provides Adult Day Services, Residential Services, Enabling Technology, and more. We are glad to partner with them to help meet their transportation needs.
Quote from one of our Program Participants
Michael Check, the Director of Men of Valor (based in Nashville), recently noted,
Men of Valor is extremely grateful for the partnership with Tennessee Vans Center for Transportation Research. Our ministry was fortunate enough to qualify for several vehicles through this wonderful program. We provide transportation to and from work for our men each day along with various other appointments. Most of the men we work with don’t have a car or a valid driver’s license upon release from prison. Therefore, the support of Tennessee Vans Center for Transportation Research is vital and helps us provide a much-needed service. We simply can’t say thank you enough.
